Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 12/02/2010

Number: 1

An immature male Ruby Throated Hummingbird visits my feeder daily. He has yet to migrate. I am positive this is the same individual I began watching this summer- he has a particular roosting perch/branch and I have watched his throat feathers begin to speckle. I bring in the feeder nightly to prevent hypothermia in the am from cold nectar. I am very concerned that he intends to overwinter here.
