Number: 1

I was at St Clair National Wildlife just south of Michells Bay on Lake St. Clair. (part of the Gr. lakes watershed) Around 48 Whopping Cranes Flew over. I was in shock!
When ariiving home I looked up the call to make sure it was the Whopping Crane and not the Sandhill. They were Flying west towards Lake St. Clair. They were very white. I didn't see any colourig on their throat/neck or body. They were flying fairly high simular to Tundra Swans but it wasn't Tundra Swans. The legs were dangling behind like Herons and Egrets. Herons and Ergrets don't fly in flocks to my knowledge. I am a birder and I teach outdoor education for the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority.
