Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 12/09/2010

Number: 1

While walking in my garden today, I discovered, at first, about 6 larva (caterpillars) and then more as I looked. I don't have an exact count as yet. Some are quite large, some are smaller and one was just hatched, I suppose, since it was quite tiny. They were on the milkweed plant I had planted 5 years ago. This is the first time I have seen the larva. I did notice that in the past couple of months, that plant had been visited daily by Monarchs. Yippee! I love their beautiful markings. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
