Two young bald eagles have been residing in our neighborhood for about three weeks. They are obviously young, their plummage is a dark brown, almost maroon, with white feathers visible on their underbellies. Both seem about the same size. At times it appears they are stalking our small chihuaua because they seem to be present in the trees around the yard in the mornings when we put the dog outside. We are wondering if our dog is in danger. We also have several large ravens in the area that appear to cojmpete with the eagles.
