Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 12/18/2010

Number: 1

I have many butterfly weed plants in my yard and still have many monarch caterpillars eating butterfly weed leaves. Today I saw a mating pair of monarchs and my neighbor 2 doors from me says she sees a monarch in her backyard every morning around 10 am.There is a group of wax myrtle trees behind her house they might be roosting in. My butterfly weed still has flowers and leaves even though it has gotten to freezing a few nights.as the day warms up to above 50 degrees I see the monarch caterpillars begin to move and continue eating leaves.I also have many monarch cocoons. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and _5__ minutes.
