I was getting out of my car to go look at five Sand Hill Cranes that were out in an open field, with my binoculars. Somehow I looked up, and saw two large White Cranes flying overhead, headed west. They looked just like a Sand Hill Crane, but they were white and had black wing tips. I do not think they were wood storks because Wood Storks have such different heads and beaks.

I have heard from my neighbors that they occasionally see Whooping Cranes out in this field area, and one was spotted in a nearby neighborhood pond some years ago.
