After 3 nights of freezing cold night, I spotted a monarch at 11:30 on 1/2/2011. Also a monarch female eclose today. The temperature is 51F. Another chrysalis begins dark color today. The different stage of caterpillars are coming along well even though we had very cold nights. Sometimes I have to wrapped blanket around them to keep them warm.
