Last year my azaleas did not start blooming until late March/start of April, and they started a few tentative blossoms in December and are moving right ahead. Daily low temps are already hovering around what they were last April. We've had unseasonably warm weather for about a week, and at least another week of same is forecast.
Today I noticed small flying insects of some kind--also early. Redwood pollen is falling on everything. I don't remember that so early last year.
