I've observed a Robin hopping in and out of a area between two large branches of a tree. It was preening itself in the sun. The idea of a Robin wintering over in NY surprised me and at first sighting I didn't believe it was a Robin until I took out binoculars and looked up the image on Google. I've confirmed that it is an American Robin.
