Monarch Adult Sighted

I just returned from a long weekend vacation to Weslaco, TX to escape the cold snow. We stopped at a Audubon Nature center where we came across 4-5 lovely tropical milkweed plants in various stages of bloom. I discovered a 3rd instar monarch (on the verge of molting) huddling on the underside of a leaf staying out of the drizzling rain. It was probably about 50-55 dF. With the cooler temps, it would probably take another month to mature to a butterfly.
