Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 01/31/2011

Number: 1

I have seen big flocks of Robins in my yard and around the neighborhood all this week. They are feeding constantly, on the ground, berries from the winter trees (black gum, camphor, local hedges). In the evenings, when the night air gets damp and heavy, they take to the air in groups, usually flying north/northeast toward Dothan,AL or Thomasville,GA. The next day will be more arriving for the day to feed on whatever they can find. This morning (Feb 1) the numbers seem to be about half what they were all week, they seem to be finally thinning down to smaller flocks now, but still quite a few around.
