Recent snow followed by warm weather and gentle rain have forced the first shoots of our Daffodils to "Spring" up! These flowers, symbolizing friendship, are our most favorite since we relate them to the beginning of spring. Daffodils belong to the genus Narcissus. Daffodil flowers have a trumpet-shaped structure set against a star-shaped background.
Often the trumpet is in a contrasting color from the background. The name Daffodils includes the most common cluster-flowered yellow Jonquils (this is what we have) and the White Narcissi but all Daffodils are members of the genus Narcissus.
