Robins always winter south of us. Even though we're in North Alabama winters can be quite cold. We were surprised to spot our first Robin of the season yesterday in our front yard. We live in a rural area, so a description of the area would be grassy hills, mostly open with some forested areas. The Robins were spotted in the open, looking for insects in the grass.
