Hummingbird, Other Species Sighted

Date: 02/07/2011

Number: 1

We have Anna's (2/7)here for the second winter in a row, like they did last year they showed up a week after the Rufous left, last year they left after the Rufous showed up, hopefully they stick around this year for the spring and summer.

There is a male in the front and a female in the back yard, there are a couple of other ones that come around but these are the two dominant ones that control the feeders.

I have talked to a number of other people in the Comox Courtenay area that also have Anna's Hummingbirds this year some for the first time, they seem to be really expanding there range.

Here is the male on November 23 during the cold snap, it was -9 C that morning.
