Edgecombe Horticulture Agent, 4-H Agent & Extension Master Gardener Volunteers worked with Andi Green's 1st grade class to develop a new planting area for the Red Emperor tulips. We met with the students for two weeks prior to planting to teach the students about bulbs and soil. The students planted the bulbs on a breezy winter day and talked about how excited they were to see them come up in the spring. We are planning to return to the school when the tulips emerge to deliver 3 more programs.
