All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 01/26/2011

Number: 1

This is our December and January update. We are writing this in February because we didn't have a chance to do it before this. Our first major snow storm of this winter was a blizzard at the end of December. It was a all white outside and snowed up to our knees. It melted a bit and then we got 4 more major snow storms in January and had school canceled. We haven't seen anymore chunky squirrels but there were still ducks on the river and crows in the air in January. The edge of the river was ice but the river was still running slowly and sparkling. There weren't anymore leaves on the trees and the ground was covered in snow. On January 26, we saw a creature that was either a hawk or an owl. It was hard to tell because it was high in a tree and we didn't have binoculars. There were many tracks in the snow and patches of black ice on the concrete path. There was hardly any sounds out side.
