All Other Signs of Spring

Today we went outside. The snow was so high that it went up to the benches of the picnic table. There was an ice layer on top. We estimate that is about 3 feet. There was a 20 ft tree now it seems to bee around 12-13 feet. The snow banks were about 7-10 ft tall. The fence around our garden called Grounds for Learning, looked really low because there was a lot of snow around it. The ice layer on top of the snow was thin enough for a few people, like our teacher Ms. Najimy and a few other students, to break through. One students leg sank all the way down. We think we saw chipmunk urine. The capacity of the snow to hold people was probably around 90lbs. But most people were able to walk on top. We saw a chipmunk running and holes that we think are chipmunk wholes. They seemed to be connected. It was freezing but sunny. Our hands felt like they came fresh out of the freezer. We found a tree with liquid inside of it. We saw a tree with many cracks.
