Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/20/2011

Number: 1

My husband and I were at a local stream valley yesterday to do some late winter birding (and to count for the Great Backyard Bird Count), when a flock of about 30 American robins flew over our heads, calling. Oh happy day! There may have been a few more, but their formation was somewhat scattered and it was hard to tell. Am grateful they were vocalizing or else I may not have known what kind of birds we had, silhouetted against the opaque-white sky as they were.

I just listened to the "American Robin 'Name That Tune'" portion of the Web site, and had wanted to indicate that the 30 or so of them were making the "'Peek' and 'Tut' calls" as they were flying back-and-forth.
