Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/24/2011

Number: 1

Briefly this AM, I observed perhaps one or two hundred robins in the neighborhood feeding in trees however very few were seen on the ground. They departed to the East shortly after I noticed them.
This is my fourth observation in three years time of this exciting and noisy event. Our home is located on East side of the Northward flowing St. Johns River, in a heavily tree canopied neighborhood. The river moderates temperatures somewhat in winter. Is this possibly why the Robins are so numerous during the winter season?
