Tulips EMERGED

Date: 02/24/2011

Number: 1

In spite of the rain, sleet, and snow this morning second graders at Regency Place decided to check on our Journey North garden. We were flabbergasted (yes, this was the students word choice) to see our tulips beginning to emerge already! They were very difficult to find, but some students were able to pick out 5 or 6 tips coming up through the ice, snow, mulch, and mud. Two weeks ago our morning temperature was only 4 degrees. But yesterday we reached a daytime high of 66 degrees. The changes in temperature seem to have coaxed our tulips into coming up. Now we can't wait until they bloom!
