The male red winged blackbirds were sighted in our river canyon. We live on the Deschutes River in a canyon in Tumalo, Oregon. This is 4 miles NW of Bend. I observed the males in the tree tops along the river, and one in top of a tree on the canyon wall. You could hear their song. I love it when my "guys" show up. I know that spring is just around the corner. Forget the groundhog...:)
