We planted our bulbs in three different places: in a raised wooden box, around a tree which is about 15 feet away from the building and around a tree which is only 3 feet away from the building. The bulbs that have emerged are the ones that are 15 feet away from the building. Today it is supposed to get up to near 70 degrees, maybe more will emerge after this warm spell.
