Although I have been reporting the presence of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds all winter, I had my very first new bird show up at the feeder this AM. How do I know it is new? It sat on the perch of the feeder which only my overwintering male hummingbird does. None of the females have been doing this all winter. This one is tired and hungry. I am sure she appreciated the perch.
