Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 03/01/2011

Number: 1

At 4:30 on this 1st day of March, I saw a robin in our front yard. He hopped over into our shrubs, flew into our oak tree, sang a lovely song, then flew off. It was so good to see him after a cold winter, for us.

The robin I heard was definitely singing a “True Song” or what I think of as a spring song, which is cheerful and enthusiastic. This morning, as I was unloading groceries from the car, I saw him on my front lawn, and he was singing the same lovely song. I’m pretty sure it was the same robin. There he is again in my oak tree out front, happily singing right now at 3:00 p.m. (3/2)
