Bald Eagle

Date: 03/01/2011

Number: 1

There were at least a half dozen bald eagles at Lake Manawa, on the south side of Council Bluffs, IA, today. Some of the ice is out of the lake and they were standing on the ice and flying low over the open water, seeking fish. The eagles stop over here most years on their trek north. They feed on both fresh and winter kill fish, when those are exposed by the melting ice.
