Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/01/2011

Number: 1

Altus couldn't get my attention soon enough for us to get outside and see the sex or condition ... but at 3:05 this afternoon we had a Monarch visit our newly sprouting curassavica plants in the big bed and then it flew out of the yard to the north. We messed around in the yard for awhile but it never came back. Clear, wind NNE @ 10, 77 dF. Altus saw it from the side and said it had good color and didn't look like the remigrants when we see them in early March here along the midcoast of Texas ... so, this one could be moving up the coast, maybe even from Corpus or the Rio Grande Valley or from across town.
