Today Ms. Wiggins' third grade class, 3B, observed that 13 of the 19 emerged tulips have bloomed! It is a beautiful sunny day in Charleston, 61.8 degrees. The tallest blooming tulip is 24.2 cms and the smallest one is 12 cms tall. Students used the following words to describe their blooming tulips; red petals, orange, yellow and purple centers, reddish blackish, smooth, slick, tall, soft, silky petals, pointy, rough, moist, cool to the touch leaves. The leaves also looked like they had spines in them.
