Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 03/03/2011

Number: 1

Today Ms. McComas' third grade class, 3D, observed that 23 out of 23 tulips have emerged. 2 of those tulips appear to have split into two so as to create 4. 14 tulips have bloomed. The tallest blooming tulip is 18 cms and shortest one is 11 cms. Some adjectives students used to describe their tulips are; soft, silky, smells new and fresh, also like peaches, waxy, red, lots of pollen, white spotted leaves, the inside looked like monarch butterfly wings, smooth, leaves looked like a snake tongue, squeeky leaf when rubbed, squishy, gorgeous, pretty and cheerful, it looked like the plant from Little Shop of Horrors! There were some holes in petals and leaves and suspect aphids had a meal.
