Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 03/02/2011

Number: 1

Single robin sitting at top of tree singing. The robin was calm. Just sitting on the top branch preening himself in the sun.

The song sounded closest to the “Dawn Song” but with longer pauses between repeat than the sound file on your site.

The robin I sighted was at my office. A great start to my day.

I have not heard nor seen any robins at home yet - which is 30 miles north of Grand Rapids. (We still have 6-10” of snow cover.)

As soon as I start seeing robins at home, I usually watch for and can expect to see the redwing blackbirds within a week.

Our woods are already filled with the sound of the cardinals’ and chickadees’ spring songs though!
