Much of the Upper Delaware River has been encased in thick ice from Hancock NY to Narrowsburg NY (ca. 35 miles below). I can't comment on river conditions below Narrowsburg.
Four bright March days had weakened surface l;ayers, and during today's prolonged rains the river rose, fractured the ice, and bore it off. It now "runs unvexed to the sea" (to borrow Lincoln's words.)
