On March 7th, we noticed that 5 tulips which we had planted at 7 inches in depth had emerged! As an experiment, we had planted five tulips at 3 1/2 inches in depth and 5 at 5 inches in depth. The ones planted at 3 1/2 inches first emerged on February 8th and the ones at 5 inches first emerged on March 2nd.
Of our 7 inch depth tulips, we noticed that one of those that emerged first was our smallest bulb in weight and girth. Not what we had expected. Jordyn was also excited because "her" bulb has also emerged!
