Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 01/14/2011

Number: 1

On a warm mid-January day I came across about 20 American robins looking for worms and other assorted goodies in the slowly greening-up grass on the sunny side of Tiger Hill at National Zoo. I got took a few photos as they were quite tame and approachable. They were not vocalizing at all, much to my surprise. Another surprise: located a swamp sparrow amidst them, as well as song and white-throated sparrows. Interesting mixed flock!
