On a neighborhood walk, encountered a townhouse with some beautiful purple crocuses out front, probably several dozen total. Their petals were closed tight as they were in full shade by that time of day, but what a delight nonetheless! Several houses down I came across some more eager bulbs (daffodils this time), with leaves and buds about 10" tall already.
