Today we had our first sighting this season of a male Rufous
Hummingbird at our feeders in Newport. This is the first year in
over 6 years that the "first" arrival has not been in the Feb 15 to
Feb 25 range - no doubt the cold weather has slowed them down. Now
there is a battle with the resident Anna's for food and the Rufous
typically are more aggresive.
