Earthworm (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/03/2011

Number: 1

Spring signs are multiplying. We saw our first worm maybe ten days ago (3/03). Now there are multiples. While the early bird may get the worm, cars, unfortunately, often get the early worms. The winter aconite, early crocus, mini-iris, snowdrops, and hellebores are either in bloom or budded. The weedy grasses in the gardens are nice and green and actively growing. Many perennials have lived through the winter, which, with its heavy snow cover, has been ideal.
