Bald Eagle

Date: 03/17/2011

Number: 1

I've been keeping my eye on the bigger birds knowing that soon I would finally spot a Bald Eagle coming back to his northern home. I was not disappointed, for today I was delighted to see him flying over Highway 313, just a couple miles east of the Winnipeg River bridge. The weather has been warm (around 0 degrees Celcius/32 Fahrenheit) so the snow has begun to melt which, I hope, will provide enough water for these birds. They'll have to eat something other than fish because the lakes and rivers are still frozen with ice. Welcome back to our beautiful Bald Eagles! :)
