wow!!! we are having our first thunderstorm of the spring and the lightning and thunder are quite beautiful. too wet to sit out by the fire with the maple sap tonight. we had a very warm day today +10C and it really felt like spring- but the humidity increased throughout the day- you could tell that rain was coming. the rain will certainly wash away almost all of the remaining snow and make the road even muddier than it was. lots of little songbirds woke me up this morning- they must have come across lake ontario ahead of the rainstorm! the Haudenosaunee people talk about the arrival of those thunderbeings that tell us that spring has arrived. it's a time to celebrate and to say nia:weh (thankyou) to the thunders.
