Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/20/2011

Number: 1

This morning we saw a female monarch (with faded wings) laying eggs on the native milkweed plants, Asclepius viridis. Normally we would be seeing more laying females ~ we hope they are still coming. We do have monarch eggs on some of the milkweed and today I found my first monarch larva (about 1 day old), so some monarchs have been here without us noticing. But we hope to see more soon!
