A bald eagle was sitting on the ice in the middle of the Mississippi river. It may have been eating as it was sitting there for a few minutes. I could not tell what it was until I got to the edge of the bank(there happened to be a small public fishing pier there). Crows were harassing it which is how I noticed it. It flew onto a tree on the other side of the river shortly after we arrived at the fishing pier, but I don't think we frightened it as several people had run by with dogs before we got there and the river is very wide so we were still pretty far away.
