Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/21/2011

Number: 1

Today I was given one of the wonderful gifts of Spring. I saw one lone Monarch flutter by around 5:30 pm. I was sitting on an bench waiting for my daughter to finish Lacrosse practice. The athletic fields were filled with various events. The sun was shining, the temperature was 80 degrees and the wind was from the west to southwest at about 2mph. I stayed for at least an hour longer, but didn't ever see another one. I'll be on the lookout for others and will spread the word among my students to be on watch as well.
