Our third graders planted 50 tulip bulbs on Nov. 15 in soil that was less than ideal even though it had been loosened. The bed is located in a sunny spot near our flagpole in the front of our school. We have a brand new school and the ground is especially packed with gravel and construction debris. Planting was tough going.
