Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/24/2011

Number: 1

First multiple sighting of females in an hour for us. We had three females visiting in the backyard. The first came just before 2:00 pm was very large ... I netted and measured at 55 mm fw, moderate fade with some tatter and a missing wind tip. Two smaller females came during the next hour to visit the A. curassavica beds and fly around me as I sat at the edge of the big bed. Both about the same fade and really checking the plants and appearing to deposite eggs.
