All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 03/26/2011

Number: 1

In the next thirty days, winter should recede north about 15 miles per day across northern Minnesota. You can watch this process on the U of WI Modistoday polar satellite site (click 250 power resolution). In 2009 the process of spring cracking, shifting and disappearing was dramatic on Lake Mille Lacs, Leech, Winnibigohish, Red and Lake of the Woods starting about April 21 and ending the first week of May when Greenwood Lake in the state's arrowhead region became the last in MN to go out.
