Bald Eagle

Date: 03/26/2011

Number: 1

When driving 70 MPH you are often challenged to be sure of anything you see, but we did see a bald eagle in a populated Maryland area by Arundel Mills Mall. We saw this bird in a wetland area just north of Route 100 and West of Telegraph Road. My wife as driving about 70mph and by the time I mentioned I saw the bird we were past. We turned around and 5 minutes later were lucky the the eagle was still there, perched high upon a dead tree stalk. We watched from the breakdown lane and saw this majestic bird take off, its white head and tail feathers clearly evident in the setting sunlight, and fly away. Wow, my first sighting.
