Yesterday and today the 4/5 classes (Ishikawa and Blessing) went out first hour with our cameras and did some observing. The bluebird houses were empty both days. However, Ms. Wolf's 2/3 class went on a listening walk and they saw a flash of blue! The mother bluebird was perched on the nest and the male was flying. After school we checked the nest box and there is a beginning of a nest in the box. We are hoping it was "move-in" day. We will be checking again soon. How exciting!
We also saw 2 ducks on the pond below the prairie, many red-winged blackbirds, robins, 2 pairs of geese flying overhead to the the north. There appears to be a muskrat home in the pond. We will need to check that out.
