12:48 pm, April 1, 2011, first appearance of an adult ruby-throated here at the feeders. Last year the first was seen on March 31 so either this year was a missed sighting or the trip is running a bit late. This could be a weather-related incident or due to early blooming season along the route, delaying the birds. But here they are and we hope for a large population again.
