Rains have finally exposed my yard and opened up ground in the forest. Herd the tell-tale song of robins in the treetops last night before dark, and awoke to six of them cruising my swampy front lawn, (which was covered with snow two days ago) picking up anything thrying to swim to the surface. Now we just need some sunshine to dry things out a bit. I suspect they will head back down to the valley floor, as more snow and freezing nights are in the forecast.
