Counts throughout Monterey county experienced an increase/decrease at several sites. Average number of monarchs counted at the sanctuary was 4961. Only one cluster found at Point Lobos where monarchs located previously, some clusters found elsewhere but fewer total counted compared to previous week. Number of monarchs roughly quadrupled at Andrew Molera and clusters found in same area where previously discovered. Clusters burst at private property site in Big Sur as counts began, at least two-thirds of monarchs counted as fliers and sunners; clusters had moved further into sheltered stand of trees. Clusters found in typical area at Plaskett Creek.
