The Monarch Alert counts for Monterey County are just about finished. We are now counting only at the Pacific Grove Monarch Sanctuary, because the monarchs have left all the other overwintering sites. The PG Sanctuary was counted on 12 March by Tama Olver during cool, partly cloudy conditions. The average number of monarchs counted was 220.
