Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/07/2011

Number: 1

Just saw my 5th Monarch of the spring, all over the last 2 weeks. None slowed down long enough for me to determine sex or condition. All flew over my nectaring plants and Tropical Milkweed without pausing. Today I found 3 1st instars and one 5th instar on native milkweed about 2 blocks from my home as well as several eggs. I have been finding eggs on these native milkweed since March 18th.
